Emission System Solutions: DPF, AdBlue, EGR
Modern vehicles are fitted with emission control systems that reduce pollution: the diesel particulate filter (DPF), the AdBlue system (SCR) and the EGR valve. Essential to meet the standards, they are also behind frequent and costly failures, especially in city driving and on short trips.

The diesel particulate filter (DPF)
The DPF traps the fine particles from diesel engines and burns them off during regeneration. Clogging, incomplete regenerations and blockage are its most common faults.

The AdBlue system (SCR)
AdBlue is injected into the exhaust to turn nitrogen oxides (NOx) into nitrogen and water vapour. A faulty pump, injector or sensor leads to warning messages and costly repairs.

The EGR valve
The EGR valve feeds part of the exhaust gases back into the intake to reduce emissions. Over time, it clogs the engine and causes power loss and irregular running.
