BMW MD1/MG1 DDE8/DME8: Bench Read & Write Without Mail-in Unlock
An important development is now available for professionals working with the latest generations of BMW engine control units.
Several Bosch MD1 and MG1 ECUs from the BMW DDE8/DME8 generations can now be read and written directly in Bench mode with AutoTuner without requiring a Mail-in Unlock.
This new solution significantly simplifies the workflow when working with supported recent BMW ECUs.
Which BMW ECUs are supported?
The newly supported ECU families include:
Bosch MD1CP032 – TC299
Bosch MD1CS001 – TC298
Bosch MG1CS024 – TC298
Bosch MG1CS049 – TC298
Bosch MG1CS201 – TC298
These ECU families are used across different recent BMW applications, including diesel DDE8 and petrol DME8 engine management systems.
Direct Bench read and write
The major development is the ability to perform Bench reading and writing directly on the supported ECU.
For compatible applications, professionals no longer need to send the ECU away for a previous Mail-in Unlock.
This provides several advantages:
